响应速度：夜间对焦速度偏慢
与大多数的长焦相机一样，索尼WX300的启动速度不是很快，毕竟是内置了一枚高变焦镜头。但相比其他同类产品，得益于其超级变焦的镜头设计，索尼WX300的表现还是要稍好一些。可以看到，相机在开机时需要2.16秒的时间，是一个可接受的范围。
索尼WX300的自动对焦速度是令人满意的，广角端日间对焦速度为0.16秒，长焦端则为0.05秒，基本上在你刚想要说“茄子”的时候，相机已经完成对焦并拍摄了，这对于抓拍景物还是十分有利的，相比自家的HX20V也毫不逊色。然而，在低光环境下，索尼WX300的自动对焦速度就会减慢，落后于松下的TZ35。事实上，索尼WX300在远摄时可能无法更好地判别主体（两个景物接近时），经常会出现“拉风箱”式的情况，影响了它的平均对焦速度。

ISO测试结果基本上可以分成三个范围。在80-800 的ISO范围内，索尼WX300的表现几乎完美，细节表现十分出色，较大的暗部阴影也能够平滑处理。从ISO 1600-3200开始，对比度和细节开始下降，但仍然没有过多的彩色噪点。而在6400-12800 ISO的较高感光度范围下，画面细节损失较大，噪点也十分明显，不过一般情况下不会使用到这么高的感光度。
除了20倍的光学变焦镜头，索尼WX300还搭载了所谓的“清晰影像”技术，这基本上是一个先进的图像处理功能，能够实现最高40倍的“类光学变焦”功能，但实际效果其实仅比数码变焦稍好一些，并不能达到真正的光学变焦水平。我们发现，在打印10*15厘米画幅的照片时，还是具有一定的实用价值，可以在一些特殊情况下发挥作用。
视频质量：对焦出色画质一般
索尼WX30的视频拍摄效果不如照片来得给力，即使在光线充足的情况下，一些斑点状的视频噪点仍是可见的。另外，像很多数码相机一样，索尼WX300倾向于阻止图片暗部的细节。对于它每秒25帧的全高清AVCHD视频输出能力，我们其实见识过更好的输出画质。
然而，对于普通用户来说，可能更倾向于良好的操作而不是纯粹的视频画质。索尼WX30在视频拍摄中的优点便是出色的追踪对焦与连续对焦能力，平稳而安静；同时，在拍摄视频中进行光学变焦，也没有噪音，不会影响视频的声音质量。索尼WX300在录制视频时也支持同时拍照，不过照片的宽高比限定为16:9，分辨率为1300万像素。
WIFI功能：支持照片传输、手机遥控功能
很多2013年的新款数码相机都将WIFI无线网络作为标准配置，因此我们也很高兴索尼WX300具有这项功能。它非常容易使用，只要打开相机和电脑或智能手机的WIFI功能，并等待WX300检测，一旦发现，你只需要输入一次密码，相机就能在之后自动识别你的设备了。如果要使用WX300与智能手机传输照片，需要下载并安装索尼的PlayMemories应用程序（支持iOS和Android系统）。其中，Android版本还可以远程控制相机，可以实现变焦、闪光灯、自拍照片和视频模式之间切换的高级功能，不过大概有一秒钟的滞后延时。在我们的测试中，7米的范围内依旧拥有良好的收讯效果。
